FAQ for course POP SONG LEFT HAND CHORD PATTERNS with melodies Keyboards piano

Q./ I am struggling to make the transition between pattern 1 and Pattern 2 .

A./  Most probably either you are having :
RHYTHM problems
OR FINGERING problems
"
LEFT HAND or RIGHT RHYTHM problems or combining the two:

RHYTHM - in Pattern 2 (5ths) :
  • At first - do NOT try to play in time
  • just place your fingers as follows

BEAT 1 is shared by the LEFT hand and RIGHT hand - place one finger each in both hand on correct notes
when you are sure fingers for BEAT 1 are correct go to BEAT 2
BEAT 2 is played only in LEFT hand -place correct right hand finger  on correct note
when you are sure finger for  BEAT 2 is correct go to BEAT 3
BEAT 3 is shared by the LEFT hand and RIGHT hand -place one finger each in both hand on correct notes
when you are sure fingers for  BEAT 3 are correct
BEAT 4 plays itself as extended beat 3
  • Do this a few times - at least 3 , before then trying to play in time
  • Only try one measure of 4 beats at a time before moving on and repeating  measure 2 then measure - each meausre 3 times

Once on has mastered this technique, as long as you are playing the CORRECT material , you will be able to play MANY songs with very similar rhythms but not the same melodies

The [problem is
1) getting right first so dont give up .
2) FInding the material - Exam syllabus and Method books tend to rush through quite complex shard rhythms between left and right hand rather quickly leaving the student struggling on EVERY piece.

I cant avoid getting you to do the workout on the first such kind of rhythm patern but waht I can PROMISE you is once you have it right I can supply you with many many pieces I wrote for students using these sijmple rhythms for years.

Really you ned to play about 10 pieces with VERY SIMILAR RHYTHM  INGERING PATTERNS  not jump from one problem to the next

FINGERING PROBLEMS
Did you donwload the PDF files showing the fingerings ?
Are you an intermediate beginner for whom this course is written or do you still need to do the "Beginner play and read keyboard piano lessons steps 1-64" ?
more soon .........
post another FAQ by replying too

CHORDS in RIGHT HAND with Melodies

I am getting thruogh the POP left hand course . The midi files you made look great when they light up the keyboard and its so easy

I can also just play it straight from the windows media player and it lights up my LK200 .pretty kewl Grin

but when i made it a user song and it waits for each note in STEP 2 on the Casio lesson thingy its so easy to learn.

,,what else are people adding to their user songs ?

thanks for your help everyone here ..
