click here Creating Music Notation on PC as many will know is working with MIDI Sound files and doing many things with them such as printing notation, transposiing , arranging parts and instruments, etc. Please have a look at my
introduction to midi if you need a better overview of its practical every day musician usefuilness.
Ive been working with Finale for about 7 years. My aim was to publish a no of
books for beginner keyboardists which I managed to do pretty well in Finale
I also spent some time with SIbelius.
Of the two I quickly stayed with FInale . Sibelius isnt as versatile and there were too many features I missed.
However both Sibelius and Finale are not in my opinion a good idea for rushed and high work load teachers.
They take far too much time to work with ( unless a very large part of your job description is creating/ arranging sheet music)
In SA you cant simply buy them online in SA but have to trudge into a shop.

Ive tried almost every demo I can of other models mainly to find notation that I felt pupil could use but as with anything free , as is the software on this forum, there are always many limitations
I eventually stumbled across a great program which has 2 versions
1)
VERSION 1 For Music Hobbyists
Beginning Musicians
Singers
Fake Book Musicians
* Find and download music MIDI files from the Internet
* Automatically convert MIDI files to high quality sheet music
* Watch the notes on the screen as they play.
* Sing or play your instrument along with "the band".
* Print the music for yourself, and print parts for members of your vocal or instrumental group.
2)
VERSION 2 Fo r Parents of Music Students
(Voice and Instrument)
Music Teachers
Instrument Ensemble Directors
Choir Directors
Song Writers
Composer
does everything
VERSION 1 does and also:
* Helps you arrange and prepare music for your own practice, for your choir or instrumental group.
* Makes it a joy to compose your own music from scratch.
* Gracefully places the music symbols in the score automatically, so that you can focus on making music rather than drawing notation.
* Enables you to easily and fully edit both the notation and playback sound (MIDI) of music scores.
* Offers the best combination and integration of tools of any software at any price.
Its far easier in
both versions to use than the more expensive one like Finlae and Sibelius and frankly - doesnt lack that much at all unless youre doing very large scores for orchestras etc, and needing features such as definative advanced player expression marks
