With the right software
Midi files can: (A) be

(B) but
heard over PC speakers and played along with
(C) be
seen on animated Music stave reading software- the notes being highlighted as the music plays
(D) be
slowed down or speeded up or even looped and used for practising in this way !
(E) various tracks muted or made solo only so they stand out or dissapear....creating Karaoke effects
(F) solo parts can be
transposed for woodwind and brass and viola transposing instruments leaving the accompanying band orchestral parts unchanged and thus enabling you to play along and print out the transposed solo part. Transposing instruments can use all of these file and play along to them and print them.
