Program to learn to read music notes on 5 line treble clef and Bass clef staves  is an excellent program for all instruments  . Shoot down the notes moving across the PIANO TREBLE CLEF ( Right Hand ) or BASS CLEF ( Left Hand ) as well as for ANY INSTRUMENT

Its essential now that you set the correct OPTIONS for a beginner - these do not appear in the help file so Ive devised the following program for complete beginners on all instruments to start with.

Please note USB KEYBOARDS or USB DIGITAL PIANOS can activate the program without having to use the PC KEYBOARD to press letters ABCDEFG

Other keyboards can also do this but a MIDI CONNECTION KIT costing about R300 is neccessry to connect the keyboard / digital piano fromthe USB on the PC to the keyboard/digital piano MIDI IN

On keyboards or digital pianos it is in fact essential to do BOTH WAYS

  • Using the LETTERS on the PC ABCDEFG teaches beginners the NAMES of the main 7 white notes ( or just main notes on any instrument)
  • Using the KEYS on the keyboard or digital piano additionally teaches beginners WHERE the note is on the piano keyboard

Here are my suggestions for the Program options settings ( Go to Menu / Game / Options to set these correctly )

Master these options level by level.

These OPTIONS SETTING for the software will take you or your child a couple of weeks of work [ though just a few minutes a day]  but you will never look back in reading if you persist and anyway its fun !

Keyboard shorcuts for the Note attack Program

A,B,C,D,E,F,G : Use these keys to guess which note is being displayed.
Left Shift + note letter : flat the note. For instance, left shift+D is D flat.
Right Shift + note letter : sharp the note. For instance, right shift+D is D sharp.
Ctrl + note letter : another way to flat the note.
Alt + note letter : another way to sharp the note.
S - start the game
P - pause the game
