COMPLETE BEGINNERS

Please understand If youv'e never had at least 8  music lessons before ,,,never been shown the fingering never had rhythm explained etc,,,,,,,Its really wise to develop independant fingering in all 5 fingers and follow a very prescribed course  HERE However first read these few paragraphs below to see how the material in those modules needs to be integrated.

1A) DO THE GENERAL BEGINNERS  FINGERING EXCERCISE on the main website here but book mark this forum page to come afterwards

1B) Have look at this program to see how much fun learning to read can actually be !

2) Dont even attempt the easy rock or dance pieces or childrens music or ANY SHEET MUSIC pieces here until youve got at least as far as lesson 12 of the  16 lessons in 64 mini steps . RATHER DO the COURSE HERE  FIRST . Lesson 3 to 9  ( mini steps 9- 45 )  are free if you participate as follows and you wont confuse yourself !

3) READING SHEET MUSIC You also wont get anywhere unless you ask for advice ,,,if youre shy personal message me but as wonderful as all this software is its also confusing to those who have no background in music.  Video lessons  or books for learning to READ music Iv'e found much less helpful than software. I'd suggest download the software and the go through the levels I've laid out HERE

4) MEMORISING PIANO or KEYBOARD FINGER POSITIONS and HAND POSITIONS  --  guidance for FINGER POSITIONS and WHICH KEYS to PLAY. That being said about reading , a large part of learning keyboards or piano is remembering fingering positions and hand movements.

---- LIGHTING If you have a CASIO LIGHTNG KEYBOARD where the white note and black notes  light up red and wait for you to play them before the next one lights up red, and a voice telling you with a digital picture of a hand which fingers to play. Of course have little digital GREAT ! It all really helps. See more about that here

----- DIGITAL MUSIC STAVE SCREEN Even if you dont have a LIGHTING keyboard many keyboards show the white and black notes on a small digital screen as songs play or extra midi files play through keyboards or fomr your own USER memory. Harder but still helpful. These are ok for adults but children find the lighting way easier - plus that the lighting STOPS and WAITS for you to play

___ VIRTUAL KEYBOARD KEYS SOFTWARE - AN alternative way to see th white and black notes play MIDI files and slow them down too like a keyboard can Have a look and download Van BAscos player here too

99% of qualified teachers will tell you the problems theyve had trying to correct mistakes and false impressions from students who have unkowlignly missed out so many steps of understanding without some form of guidance form a teacher. Once youre on your way then its different , but its very important not to get confused about basics initially
