in the diagram
Notice that :
- The
thumb is ALWAYS called finger 1. The index (pointing finger) is
ALWAYS called finger 2 in all sheet music on keyboards.
- Sheet
music often marks in which fingers to play with numbers like this

- For BEGINNERS
wev'e found a way that will both help you read normal sheet music
but also makes sure your hand is correctly positioned from the
beginning even in advanced beginner keyboard pieces ! so.........lets
try it out !
Please
now place fingers 1 and 2 on your keyboard here 
- Notice
that fingers 1 and 2 DID NOT STRETCH OVER ANY KEY on your keyboard
and just as fingers 1 and 2 are side by side they also played
the 2 white notes that are side by side !
